Known for its purification properties, Activated Carbon is used across various industries for contamination control. Haycarb is one of the world's largest suppliers of coconut shell-based activated carbon, owning a 16% global market share. We manufacture a complete range of standard, washed, and impregnated activated carbon in granular, powder, and extruded pellet forms for a full spectrum of applications. Equipped with in-house R&D and engineering capabilities, we offer a total solutions suite to our customers from testing and product development, to the regeneration of spent activated carbon and the designing and implementation of environmental engineering systems. Since its establishment in 1973, Haycarb has opened six manufacturing locations across Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Indonesia, with marketing subsidiaries in USA, UK, and Australia, and is listed on the Colombo Stock Exchange with an annual turnover of around US$ 140 million.

Haycarb’s environmental engineering division, Puritas (Pvt) Ltd, specialises in water and wastewater treatment solutions. With a proven track record, it has successfully implemented over 300 treatment systems across diverse industries in Sri Lanka and the region.

Puritas Sath Diyawara

Our flagship CSR initiative, Puritas Sath Diyawara was initiated in 2014 as a brainchild of Puritas family to extend their expertise for a socially-needed course; provide clean drinking water for people in Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) affected areas of Sri Lanka. This includes providing a centralised Reverse Osmosis (RO) water purification system, water docking stations around the village and a bowser to transport water to docking stations, with the operations being managed by the residents themselves. Today, we have completed 16 projects, purifying 190,000 litres of clean drinking water everyday for over 44,000 people in 21 villages in the Northern and North Central provinces of Sri Lanka on daily basis. Puritas Sath Diyawara also provides essential school supplies to students annually while supporting school libraries and internet centres.
