During the Islamic holy month of Ramadan, Muslims fast every day from sunrise to sunset. Fasting is one of the five pillars of the Islamic faith and Ramadan is a time of spiritual discipline, increased charity, generosity, and fellowship. To break the fast, a meal known as Ifthar (literally, breaking of the fast) is consumed.
